  Southern analysis using probes specific for the 5' portion of Phex against C3H/HeJ, B6C3H-Gy/Y and (C3H/HeJ x B6C3H-Gy/Y)F1 genomic DNA showed that the 5' portion of Phex, corresponding to human exons 1-3, is deleted in Gy mice. This data maps the Gy deletion within Phex exons 3 and 4 on mouse Chromosome X, making Gy allelic to Phex.
