The nine loci here were ordered as listed in mouse Chromosome 11. Three mouse models of Smith-Magenis and Potocki-Lupski syndromes including engineered rearrangements within this region were informative to observe the phenotypic results of copy number variations.

The mouse strain Df(11)17/+ and its reciprocal duplication Dp(11)17/+ are models for Smith-Magenis and Potocki-Lupski syndromes, an engineered strain(Df(11)17/Dp(11)17), and wild type (+/+) were used for transcriptome profiling.
