    Linkage analysis was performed on 64 BXD RI strains (n = 528) to identify QTL associated with adrenal weight in males.

    QTL Mawq1 maps to 99.5 - 102.5 Mb on Chromosome 4 with a peak LOD score of 3.983 in linkage with male adrenal weight. C57BL/6J allelesincrease adrenal weight at the Mawq1 locus. The protein coding genes Lepr and Pde4b have been identified as potential Mawq1 candidate genes.

    Suggestive QTL for male adrenal weight were mapped to chromosomes 2, 4, 10, 17, and X.
