• Experiment
  Various strains of mice were analyzed for amino acid polymorphisms within the region coded for by exon one of Il2. Within that context segregation of the Idd3 phenotype with various variant types were analyzed. The only variant sequence that segregated with Idd3 phenotype was the serine/proline substitution within the Il2 protein. This suggests that Il2 may in fact be a candidate for the Idd3 phenotype.
