Homozygous knock-out allele leads to decreased CD4+ T cells and decreased susceptibility to experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. Homozygous enzymatic inactivation leads to reduced colon mucosa thickness and increased morbidity and mortality after DSS-induced colitis.
