Homozygotes for a gene trapped allele show perinatal lethality, reduced respiratory rate, fetal growth retardation, slow weight gain, delayed bone ossification, reduced adipogenesis and altered in vitro differentiation of mesenchymal progenitor cells into chondrocytes, adipocytes and osteoblasts.
