Mice homozygous for a null allele exhibit embryonic lethality prior to E9.5. Mice homozygous for a hypomorphic allele exhibit perinatal lethality, abnormal brain morphology, edema, ectopic blood vessels, caudal body truncation, short rostral-caudal axis, abnormal somites, oligodactyly, and altered respiratory cilium basal feet orientation.
