Homozygotes for a gene trap allele die during late organogenesis/early fetal development with decreased embryo size, pericardial effusions and open anterior neural tubes. Homozygotes for a null allele show decreased embryo size, failure to gastrulate, and complete lethality prior to organogenesis.
