Homozygous null mice show no obvious corpus callosum or cortex defect. Mice homozygous for a L278 microdeletion die neonatally with increased neuron apoptosis while heterozygotes show enlarged corpus callosum and cerebellar hypoplasia with more axons crossing the midline despite cortical apoptosis.
