These genes may be considered further for candidate genes. On mouse Chromosome 18, Fgf1 (19 cM) shows differential expression between the restricted and unrestricted diets on the A/A background. Diabesity QTL Nidd2 (16 cM) maps near candidate gene Fgf1. Cd14 (31 cM) shows differential expression between A/a and A/A animals on the unrestricted diet. Diabesity QTL Bwq4 (28 cM) maps near candidate gene Cd14.
