Homozygous null mice show increased adult neurogenesis in the subgranular zone of the dentate gyrus, altered neuronal differentiation in the hippocampus, and behavioral anomalies such as hyperactivity, reduced anxiety-like behaviors, poor social interaction, and a slight deficit in working memory.
