Female mice homozygous for a knock-out allele and older than 4 months of age show subfertility characterized by reduced gestational weight gain, decreased litter size, thin myometrium with a disorganized collagen matrix and discontinuous smooth muscle sheets, and impaired parturition with high rates of dystocia, resulting in significant fetal demise.
