Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit embryonic lethality, decreased forebrain and somite cell proliferation, and increased cellular sensitivity to gamma irradiation and mitomycin C. Mice heterozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit reduced embryonic, fetal, and early postnatal survival.
