Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele show a specific reduction in the number of GABAergic and glycinergic amacrine cells, a thin retinal inner nuclear layer, altered retinal inner plexiform layer morphology, and abnormally increased spatial, temporal, and contrast sensitivities in optokinetic reponses.
