Mice homozygous for a truncation mutation exhibit decreased body weight and length, shorter long bones, thick skin, altered bone development, abnormalities in the ciliary apparatus of the eye, and increased skeletal muscle mass with increased numbers of smaller skeletal muscle fibers.
