Mice homozygous for a knock-out allele exhibit increased increased alanine transferase, blood urea nitrogen, lactate dehydrogenase, neutrophils and mortality and altered liver morphology (massive hemorrhage, disorganized hepatic cords and karyolysis of hepatocytes) following treatment with LPS.
