Notes |
TRAMP stands for TRansgenic Adenocarcinoma Mouse Prostate. Lines 5666 and 8079 were also produced.
Transgenic mice on a C57BL6 background develop progressive forms of prostate cancer with distant site metastasis. Forms of disease range from mild intraepithelial hyperplasia to large multinodular malignant neoplasia. Tumors are detected in the prostate as early as 10 weeks of age. The tumors have elevated levels of nuclear TRP53 and decreased androgen receptor expression. |
