Transgene
origin
Strain of Origin:  CD-1 x C57BL/6J
Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Humanized sequence, Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsThis transgene contained a 12 kb fragment with the human cMYC promoter and coding sequence. A 1 kb fragment containing the murine immunoglobulin heavy chain enahancer sequence was inserted in the MYC intron 1 to direct transgene expression to B cell precursor cells. Transgene expression was found in the bone marrow, spleen, and thymus at 1 month of age. Expression in the thymus and spleen is virtually lost in older mice. Transgene expression was not detected in the brain, salivary glands, breast, muscle, lung, heart, stomach, small bowel, large bowel, pancreas, kidney, adrenal gland, ovary, testis, or epididymus.
