Mutation details: The rat insulin II promoter drives the expression in pancreatic beta cells a form of Akt1 that has been rendered constitutively active by the addition of an N-terminal myristoylation sequence. Western blot confirmed expression of the transgene in pancreatic lysates. Two lines were generated, F3 and F7.
