Embryos homozygous for a gene trap allele are developmentally delayed and die by E14 with no specific cardiac defects; however, heterozygotes develop larger myocardial infarctions with increased post-infarction cardiac remodeling while cultured cardiomyocytes are sensitized to proapoptotic stimuli.
