The dominant allele of Ezg determines a wide, well defined adrenal zona glomerulosa in CBA and A/Cam; the recessive allele, a narrow poorly defined zona in Peru and SF/Cam. Sodium deficiency causes glomerular hypertrophy in CBA, but not Peru mice, although aldosterone secretion rate is the same.
