This locus controls an antigen present on B-cells of spleen, lymph nodes and Peyer's patches. The a allele determines presence of Lyb4.1 antigen in DBA/2 and C3H/He; the b allele determines absence of Lyb4.1 in strains C57BLKS, C57BL/6 and BALB/c.
