Notes: Four other restriction enzymes (PvuII, SacI ScaI and NheI) detected the same polymorphism between SM/J and all of the other strains examined. The authors suggested that the ~0.5kb difference in SM/J DNA compared to other strains may have resulted from a ~0.5kb insert in or around the Jak1 locus in SM/J DNA.
